I should, I would OR I WILL!

Psalm 26:12 Now I stand on solid ground, and I will publicly praise the Lord.

1 Samuel 13:14 But now your kingdom must end, for the Lord has sought out a man after his own heart. The Lord has already appointed him to be the leader of his people, because you have not kept the Lord’s command.”

Acts 13:22 But God removed Saul and replaced him with David, a man about whom God said, ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart. He will do everything I want him to do.’

The shoulds and woulds that get in our way. Scripture tells us that Davis was a man after Gods heart why… because he was willing to do everything God wanted him to do. Are you that man or do your should and would get in the way.

I should… how often do we say I should do _______ but ________.

What do you know you should do but don’t? why?

In scripture when God says “should” it is a command. It is something we need to obey. Lets look at some shoulds.

Exodus 6:30 But Moses argued with the Lord, saying, “I can’t do it! I’m such a clumsy speaker! Why should Pharaoh listen to me?”

Ruth 1:11 But Naomi replied, “Why should you go on with me? Can I still give birth to other sons who could grow up to be your husbands?

1 Kings 2:4 If you do this, then the Lord will keep the promise he made to me. He told me, ‘If your descendants live as they should and follow me faithfully with all their heart and soul, one of them will always sit on the throne of Israel.’

Matthew 11:15 Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand!

Matthew 3:15 But Jesus said, “It should be done, for we must carry out all that God requires.” So John agreed to baptize him.

Matthew 18:21 Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?”

Acts 19:36 Since this is an undeniable fact, you should stay calm and not do anything rash.

1 Peter 3:8 Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude.

In order to follow Gods will for us there should not be any shoulds.

I would _______ but________

Our Christain walk and life can not be based on feelings. What would happen if we let feelings rule our heart? Mind? Body? Soul? We would be a complete mess. God has given each of us free will and it is our choice how we live.  BUT, is our free will aligned with God's will.  Are you a man who is going to stand on biblical priciples or give way to feelings and the ways of the world?

What are your woulds?

When we base our choices on would and should we miss out on the blessing of the Lord. We miss out on His greatness for us. We give into the quick fix, our ever changing emotions and miss out on GREAT we miss out on the blessings God has in store for us. Lets look at some woulds.

2 Peter 2:21 It would be better if they had never known the way to righteousness than to know it and then reject the command they were given to live a holy life.

James 3:2 Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way.

Hebrews 5:11 There is much more we would like to say about this, but it is difficult to explain, especially since you are spiritually dull and don’t seem to listen.

Should and Would

Acts 27:21 No one had eaten for a long time. Finally, Paul called the crew together and said, “Men, you should have listened to me in the first place and not left Crete. You would have avoided all this damage and loss.

Instead of making excuses and saying should or would – What about I WILL??  I will obey God and His perfect plan for us.  I will do God’s will.  What would your life look like if you were to stand firm in His will for you???

Would that be hard to do?  Why?

Let’s do the Hard. Let’s be a man after Gods own heart. When we say I will not, bad things happen. Gods wants us to say I will to Him and satan wants us to say I will to him.

How often do we hear “God will never give you more than you can handle”. That is a lie satan wants you to believe. God will never give you more than HE can handle.

And He can handle everything for all things are possible with Him. But in those times of stress and feeling like we are drowning if we believe satan then we start to doubt God and His power – and take it all on ourselves.  That’s when we would could potentially start blaming God too.

All the heros of faith said I will to God. When God says I will to us He means it. If we will He will and He will do what only He can do. If God tell me to do it will I? or will I say I should or I would?

Acts 17:30 “God overlooked people’s ignorance about these things in earlier times, but now he commands everyone everywhere to repent of their sins and turn to him.

Micah 6:8 No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

Matthew 26:39 He went on a little farther and bowed with his face to the ground, praying, “My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.”

James 4:17 Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.

Psalm 7:17 I will thank the Lord because he is just; I will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High.

Psalm 9:1 I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done.

John 14:18 No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you.

John 15:4 Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.
