Intro to Armor of God

1 Corinthians 4:5

Psalm 18:28

You, O LORD, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.

Matthew 5:13-16
"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men. "You are the light of the world.  A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

What is the armor of God?

How many pieces are there? (6) Name them.

Ephesians 6:10-18

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.

**Why do you think it scripture says put on the full armor of God?

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

**It’s stated again – to convey the importance

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.  Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.  In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.  Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people

Belt of truth (any and all things – little white lies?) – by a show of hands, who has put the belt of truth on all day today??? – This whole week – This month…

Breastplate of righteousness (According to the will of God, do you do your best to live out your life in a way that is pleasing to God?)

Sandals – gospel of peace (In heated times – are you slow to speak and quick to listen?)

Shield of faith (No matter what happens, do you believe God will get you through it?)

Helmet of salvation (At some point you have accepted Christ as your savior, do you accept Him daily?)

Sword of the spirit (word of God) – (Meditate on his word, study his word)

We can simply decide or CHOOSE to put on the full armor of God.  I highly recommend reviewing and studying each of these concepts in depth.  But don't wait - don't delay, because we have already gone to battle - we are already in the middle of the war.  We must acknowledge that the attacks are all around us and even directly against us.  Which of you forgot to put on some or the "FULL ARMOR OF GOD"?

Closing scripture:

2 Corinthians 3:1-6,17 Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, like some people, letters of recommendation to you or from you? You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone. You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.  Such confidence we have through Christ before God. Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God. He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

17-Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

Additional scripture:

Proverbs 20:18 Make plans by seeking advice; if you wage war, obtain guidance.

Proverbs has a ton of quotes –

20: If someone curses their father or mother, their lamp will be snuffed out in pitch darkness.

3: It is to one’s honor to avoid strife, but every fool is quick to quarrel.

What an amazing opportunity it was to evangelize in Germany.  The trip may be over, and we may be back at it, with "life" but God moved in amazing ways and is continuing to do so.

God is so good!!!
