Why do we need God?
Today many people would like us to believe that we started off as single cell organisms that then evolved into Amoeba:
And then after we evolved from Apes, we became this higher life form.
Here is what we have involved into today. Not sure that these groups are much better than much of what is going in in our society today – (more civilized?)
Why do we need God?
In the world we live in today, we have corruption – immorality – lack of self control, lack of self respect – lack of respect for others, lack of respect for authority,
But isn’t this all part of how a naturalistic, evolution, or the natural selection mentality would play itself out?
Let’s look at natural selection – some say it’s “survival of the fittest” generally people term this as the biggest, strongest, smartest or most cunning individuals. Maybe – but in the end – whoever is able to survive and reproduce is ultimately going to win out in the end. It could be weak and not particularly intelligent beings – maybe they are just loud? Or maybe they band together to work to a goal to defend or attack against the stronger.
The one who has the best that, better that, the best plan to destroy the other – whoever remains wins.
But wins what? The right to gloat about their accomplishment, the right to reproduce?
Legacy is something that a lot of focus on, but is that ultimately enough. What if everything we have to do, to win is so unconscionable, that our legacy doesn’t want to follow in our footsteps because it’s so detestable.
What about morality – Morals – Morality is not part of natural selection -
But isn’t this where God comes in. The question is then – which one?
We live in a relativistic world. Where my morals are better than yours and you have to tolerate my world view.
Example – an Agonostic who believes that termination of life prior to birth is O.K. And giving people right to do that is paramount.
What do you find to be relevant? Is what the bible says relevant to how you believe you should live your life?
At some point we need to address the question – “What is our purpose?”
Titus 2:11-14 – NKJV - For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
